As many of my readers know, I am a huge fan of Twinkie Chan’s work, and this past Saturday I, along with my youngest son and my friend from third grade who inspired my cookie crochet, set out for the Renegade Craft Fair at Fort Mason Center so that I could meet the one and only Twinkie Chan.

We started our adventure by getting on a ferry at Jack London Square in Oakland, and enjoyed the sights along the way:

Once we disembarked from the ferry, we made our way from Pier 41 to Fort Mason Center where the Renegade Craft Fair was taking place.

After making our way to the entrance and past a number of displays that were interesting in their own right, we finally arrived at Twinkie Chan’s booth, which like Twinkie’s other work is a testament to the joy of confection:

I enjoyed being able to see first hand Twinkie’s creative hairwear:

And delightful scarves:

But best of all was meeting the inimitable Twinkie Chan herself:

Was my trek to the Renegade Craft Fair to meet Twinkie Chan worth it?

Absolutely!

Will I do it again?

I certainly hope so!
