The week in review: October 15 through October 19, 2012

I did made it out to the North Carolina State Fair today where I got to see my 2012 North Carolina State Fair project hanging on the wall just above the second place project, a brightly colored granny square throw by Christa J. Dunn. Both pieces can be seen here:

Unfortunately, I was in a hurry because I needed to a) get a funnel cake and b) get my son to his trumpet lesson on time, so I don’t have any other photos to share from my trip to the state fair, but here is a look at the week in review.

  1. I feel TERRIBLE!!!!! I just read that your gorgeous afghan took FIRST PLACE at the North Carolina State Fair. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I am not surprised. What a masterpiece. I am so sorry I didn’t tell you the day you posted the info, but my 15 week old Great Dane puppy became sick and I had to put her down on Thursday. My mind hasn’t been on reading much. Started catching up today. So…..again, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Also, LOVE the “Clooney yarn romp”.

  2. Congratulations, Winner!! I’m so happy for you. I was getting a bit worried that you wouldn’t make it in time. Fantastic! Now you have to sell this one to Red Heart so the less talented folk (me) can have our own Blue Ribbon afghan.

Love the fat bag, too! Can’t wait to see it felted. The granny sampler fat bag is going to be a treat, too. I can tell! 😀 😀

  3. Congratulations on 1st Place! I too haven’t been keeping up on blogs much. I had to put Mr. Lick Lick (Leo) down on the 6th. Thus the change in the blog too. I knew you’d have a winner. It’s truly a work of art. Congrats again.
