Reworking my crochet empire

I have a lot of things going on right now, and many of them impinge on the time I would otherwise have to crochet, but be that as it may, I am not going to stop trying to finish rehabbing the many remnants in my crochet empire.

Sometimes the fact that I am a bit stubborn gets in the way of me making progress as I get hung up on completing something that it simply isn’t possible to complete, but sometimes my obdurate nature works in my favor and allows me to get things done that would otherwise never get finished, and the sixteen crochet remnants that were my current front burner project are one such example.

Last Sunday, I selected these sixteen remnants:

I figured that I would be done reworking them by Thursday at the latest, but Thursday came and went, and the remnants resisted my efforts to transform them. But I wasn’t about to be done in my own bits of crochet, so I kept at it, reworking one and then another, and then at some point in the middle of the afternoon today, they were all done:

I took a photo, and the transformation of these once forgotten crochet bits was documented.

I would have liked to have simply sat for what remained of a glorious spring afternoon and basked in the afterglow of having gotten something done, but I am going to be traveling over the next couple of days, and I needed something to bring with me so that while I make the journey of 1750 miles, I can continue on my other journey — that of a thousand rehabbed crochet remnants.

The pickings are, getting slimmer and slimmer, but finally, I hit the motherlode of crochet remnants, and gathered them for this photo:

There is a lot of work to be done here, and the work requires various skills and level of attention to detail, a sort of “something for everyone” mishmash of rehab to be done, and as I move forward on the road, I will take time here and there to move forward on the rehab of these pieces, one stitch at a time.
