This is designed to be a resource page for anyone making the Better Homes and Gardens Crocheting & Knitting Granny Sampler Afghan.
This a collection of blog posts I wrote with directions I devised when what I did was different than the directions as written in the book.
Words of caution: these directions have, for the most part, not been tested, so I may have made mistakes of my own in writing the directions. PLEASE let me know if this is the case and either message me at ravelry.com where I am crochetbug13 or send me an email at leslie-at-crochetbug-dot-com.
To make this afghan, I used worsted weight yarn and a 4.5 mm hook.
For the next one I make (and there will be a next one), I intend to use a 5.0 mm hook and the join-as-you go method that was actually used on the central squares of the afghan in the photo of the book (I have not yet figured out in what order they were joined) that also should give the finished piece more give and drape.
However you end up doing this project, I hope you find that your adventure making this afghan is as fulfilling as mine was.
