Square B-2 provided me with a lot of challenges, not the least of which was the fact that after the first three rounds, none of the directions applied, and I was on my own.
The result is a close approximation seen here:

I made this square by doing the following:
Rounds 1, 2, & 3: As written in the directions provided.
Round 4: Using a new color, attach with a sc to any space immediately to the right of any ch-1 space from the previous round. Make another sc in the same space, sc in the next ch-1 space, 2 sc in the next sp, *sc in each of the next 5 sts, 2sc in next st, sc in ch-1 sp, 2sc in next sc, repeat from * 3 times more, sc in each of the next 5 sts, join with sl st to first sc made and finish off.
Round 5: Join new color in any st and ch 4. Counts as first trc. *(3trc, ch 3, 3trc in same space), skip one st, dc in next space, hdc in next 2 spaces, sc in next 3 spaces, hdc in next 2 spaces, dc in next space, repeat from * 3 times more, sk last st, and join with sl st to top of first trc made. Finish off.
Round 6: With new color in any ch-3 space *(2sc, ch2 2sc) sc in next 15 sts, repeat from * 3 times more. Join with sl st to first sc made. Finish off.
Round 7: With new color an in any ch-2 space *(3dc, ch3, 3dc) [sk next 2 sts, 3dc in next stitch], repeat from [ to ] 5 times more, sk next st, repeat from * 3 times more. Join with sl st to first dc made. Finish off.
Leslie – HELP! Aren’t there really 8 rounds and what you show as Round 5 is really round 6? It seems the instructions for the blue that shapes the circle are not not here ??
Sorry Denise, I will need to check this.
Thanks Leslie – sorry to have you revisit this evil square. I tried to improvise and muddled through but it’s not quite right.
Denise, I’m so glad you said something. I worked on it this afternoon and found that I had forgotten to include a round. I have some pictures and will be updating it shortly.
Thanks so much! I’ll be glad to move on from the star squares!
