- Left-handed crocheters can get a straighter edge by turning the piece clockwise

With 4.5 mm hook and worsted weight yarn, ch 20
Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each remaining ch across—18 dc.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), turn, working in back loop only, dc in next st and in each st across—18 dc.
Rows 3–9: Repeat Row 2 for seven more times—18 dc.
Fasten off.
Depending on how you want to join the squares, you may want to leave a tail long enough to whip stitch them together to cut down on the number of ends that need to be woven in.
