So you want to make a fitted chair leg sock? (text only)

Fitted chair leg sock

Materials:
3.75mm hook
Red Heart Super Saver (I have used Buff and Warm Brown)
yarn needle
removable stitch marker

Note: I crochet loosely. If you tend to crochet tightly, you may find that you need a larger hook to get a chair leg sock that fits.

Special stitches: sc2tog: Insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up loop (2 loops on hook), insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook sc2tog made.

This chair leg sock is worked in continuous rounds. Do not join; mark beginning of rounds.

Note: I do not make a chain one before making the first single crochet of the chair leg sock. I draw the loop up from the slip stitch join of the ch 4 and work the first sc from there.

With A, ch 4; join with slip st in first ch to form a ring

Round 1: 6 sc in ring ( 6 sc).
Round 2: 2 sc in each st around (12 sc).
Round 3: (2 sc in next st, sc next st) 6 times (18 sc).

Weave in the beginning end before going forward.

Rounds 4–7: sc in each st (18 sc).
Round 8: (sc, sc2tog) six times (12 sc).
Round 9: sc in each st (12 sc).
Slip stitch in first sc of Round 9. Fasten off and weave in the remaining end.

  1. Oh so simple no wonder you feel like you have done nothing but the fact is that it all takes time. When you look at the pic of 12 together or a set on the chairs or listen to compliments from friends that’s when you realise what you have achieved. They are so cute and unique and must put a smile on your face in the morning.Would also look great in a variety of colors or on a nursery stool.x

  2. Hello,
I am having a hard time starting out the chair sock – when I chain 4, then single crochet in the slip stitch, I have 5 stitches in the round. But Round 1 says 6 sc in the round..what am I missing? Thanks 🙂

    1. After you chain 4, you oin the slip stitch to make your first ring, then you begin row 1 by sc6 in that ring not on slip stitch. I hope that helps.

  3. Going to try making these for a cane that has the 4 feet at the bottom and the grips have worn out so cane is noisy when walking and keep forgetting to order new grips…hooray! Thanks
