Today was a most excellent crochet day.
Of late, I have spent most of my crochet time wrestling with the behemoth that is my 2011 North Carolina State Fair project. The problem with behemoth wrestling is that you don’t always win, but today I managed to make substantial progress.
This past Monday when I last posted a photo of my 2011 North Carolina State Fair project, it looked like this:
With just 10 of the 20 motifs needed made, I still had a lot of work to do. Then shortly after lunch yesterday, I put the finishing touches on the twentieth Bauhaus Quilt Block III motif and was ready to move forward:
With my favorite bent-tipped Clover needle in hand, my good fortune continued and shortly after lunch today, I had finished joining all of the motifs and woven in all of the ends:
The project now measures 32″ x 32″ which is 1/9th the anticipated size of the finished project, so it is now officially past the 10% mark.
I don’t know exactly where this project is going to take me, but I do know that it will be an interesting journey.
