Life is like a box of crochet

You never know what you’re going to get.

Last year at this time, I was busy packing my life into boxes, and the past twenty years, crochet has been at the center of a lot of my life, and after packing everything up, I got a bit of a reprieve.

We put things in storage and moved into an apartment, and now the reprieve I had is coming to a close. The lease on the apartment is going to end in the future at at time that is now foreseeable,, and I am now at a point that those decisions I so successfully put off, must now be made.

So I have been busy making those decisions, but when when I was not going through one box of crochet or another, I got out my current five by five array of crochet remnants and did what I could to get them closer to finished, if for no other reason, when I get enough crochet remnants rehabbed, I can pack them up and send them off and make a little more room in my life for all of the things that need doing.

Of course, I did not get done everything that I wanted to, but I did get the first round of crochet rehab done on these six remnants:

Six crochet remnants with one round of rehab
Six crochet remnants with one round of rehab

Which, when combined with the other remants in various stages transformation, looked a lot more impressive:

Twenty-five future five-inch squares rehabbed from crochet remnants that had been in a box of crochet
Twenty-five future five-inch squares rehabbed from crochet remnants that had been in a box of crochet

Part of me wishes that I could just sit down and work on rehabbing the crochet remnants until all one thousand squares were done, but another part of me knows that the day of crochet reckoning is at hand, and I need to sort through each box, one remnant at a time.
