I woke up this morning to the reality that, depending on when you begin your celebration, there are only 7 or 8 crafting days until Christmas, and while my fantasy wish list includes “more time to crochet,” I am instead confronted with the harsh reality that I am not getting more time for Christmas.
So while visions of crocheted sugar plums danced in my head, I made a mental list of all the things I wish I had time to make before December 25 arrives.
At the top of that list are several items included in Twinkie Chan’s book, Twinkie Chan’s Crochet Goodies for Fashion Foodies: 20 Yummy Treats to Wear.
Warning: this book is not for the beige at heart.

Twinkie Chan embraces, with unbridled enthusiasm, all of the things that make crochet so distinctive. Using a variety of motifs and techniques (including appliqué, textured stitches, and a variety of yarns) Twinkie explores and exploits the decorative potential of food.
A crochet personality who has tons of charm, in addition to her book of crochet confections, Twinkie also has an online home where you can keep yourself apprised of all of her upcoming crochet adventures and events, as well as explore her current and past crochet exploits.
It is unlikely that I will get to make any of the items in this book that I feel are calling my name before Christmas, but I do expect that it could form the cornerstone of a very engaging and joyful crochet celebration of the twelve days that follow.
