When I got up this morning, there was no doubt that I needed to get going on my crochet and one of the first orders of crochet business that I addressed today was finishing this mandala for Wink (you can read more about this project here):

With the mandala done, I was then able to take my hook and focus all of my attention on the hundreds of granny squares I need to make for my 2015 North Carolina State Fair project.

While I will be using four-round, three-round, and two-round granny squares, I also need a lot of one-round granny squares, so with 5.0 mm hook in hand and several piles of yarn within arm’s reach, I decided I had best get going on those first.

I spent most of my efforts working on the one-round granny squares because they are very labor intensive for the square area crocheted:

but occasionally I took a break from the one-round granny squares and made some three-round grannies:

Before the sun set on another increasingly shorter day, I got this group photo of the day’s efforts:

As the days grow ever shorter, the urgency of finishing this project is beginning to descend on me. I still have no clear idea what elements there are that I have yet to make, but at this point, I just need to keep crocheting and hope that everything is revealed to me with sufficient time for me to finish crocheting it.
