Day 4: I crochet s-l-o-w-l-y

In theory, it was a perfect crochet day; in practice, it was just a perfect day. Either way the work progressed slowly. Very slowly. So slowly, there were hyphens between each letter: s-l-o-w-l-y.

A lot of things went right today, but the thirty-first and final row of my 2010 North Carolina State Fair crochet project successfully resisted my efforts to finish today. Here is how far I had gotten by 11:00 tonight:

I suppose part of it had to do with my indecision about every square. I would have them laid out and then something would catch my eye, and I would swap one square for another which would lead to yet another change, until it seemed I was back to where I started.

The other part of it had to do with running errands. I don’t think I could have organized them more poorly if I had tried to.

But it seems that after having deserted me most of the day, my crochet mojo is back and once again working, so I will grab my trust Clover bent-tipped needle and get back to work.
