Recently, I traveled to the Midwest to visit family, and because of the nature of traveling, I only got a small bit of piecing done for my 2011 North Carolina State Fair project. For the most part, I made squares and rectangles of varying dimensions using what I think of as my Bauhaus block method of crochet. But now it is time for me to arrange the pieces I’ve made.
Now I am experiencing the consequences of using this method.
The trailing ends of the numerous pieces have merged and formed large, colorful clumps; if I want to actually use one of the pieces, I must carefully tease out the ends from the tangle in order to free it.
This morning, with just 33 days between me and my deadline, I got together the pieces I had carefully laid out on Tuesday that the cat had rearranged for me when my back was turned and through the magic of a Clover bent-tipped needle and the whip stitch, this:

was transformed into this:

By late afternoon, my 2011 North Carolina State Fair project measured 22″ x 22″, or 121/2304ths of the design I have envisioned.
If I were to stop and think about this, I might be stricken with a terror-induced stasis. For the moment, however, I am willing to plug along without thinking in the hope that not thinking will facilitate the doing that is most definitely needed.
