On Thanksgiving Day, one of my friends posted a photo at Facebook of a jigsaw puzzle she had been working on.
I admired it and asked where one could be purchased.
It turned out that the puzzle in question is an antique one, and while she could not tell me where a puzzle like hers could be purchased, she did offer send it to me.
Since we live nearby, we decided to make the puzzle transfer in person, and because I was overwhelmed at her generosity, I asked her if there was anything I could make for her as a token of thanks; after a brief IM chat, we settled on fingerless gloves.
The first order of business from my perspective was to settle on a suitable pattern. Using the pattern search feature at Ravelry, I searched using the words “fingerless gloves” and limited myself to crochet patterns. In short order, I had 36 pages, each of which had 36 patterns to choose from. Eventually, I settled on Catherine DePasquale’s pattern for Victorian Texting Gloves
Ms. DePasquale is something of an expert in the design of fingerless gloves, and her pattern directions are clear and easy to follow. Here is what I was able to get done yesterday afternoon while watching “Forks Over Knives.”

There is still about 15 minutes of crochet left to be done before it is time to weave in and trim the ends so I can call these fingerless globes done, but in as much as tomorrow is Monday and I will be up early to get my son to the bus, I should have plenty of time to get them done before we meet.
As for my African flower hexagon meditation, I had thought that I might set it aside for the month of December to free up time to work on projects of more immediate concern, but when push came to shove, I was unwilling to leave it for later.
I completed the twenty-third hexagon on Friday:

Fortunately, tomorrow’s forecast is for plenty of sunshine, so I should be able to document both the completed Victorian texting gloves and the 25th hexagon with relative ease.
