This weekend, I didn’t make as much progress on the hats as I might have because my friend from third grade, the woman for whom I had made the original Cookieghan:

came to visit, and she came bearing gifts, one of which was this crochet hook organizer made by a crafter known as Neon Greens:

who not only makes and sells items to help crocheters and knitters get organized, but also has an assortment of fiber confections that are a visual delight:

As I hadn’t seen my third grade friend In Real Life for at least a couple of decades, we had a lot of catching up to do, and while I spent most of my weekend visiting with her, I did manage to get a little crochet done, finishing the crochet work on the blue, earflap hat I had started:

as well as this light coral, earflap hat for a baby:

and even managed to get a start on a few decorative elements for the light coral hat:

Tomorrow and Tuesday, I am going to put the finishing touches on these two hats and then get started on a sixth (and final) hat for my cousin’s Christmas project, but at the moment, I am going to use what time remains to catch up with my friend from third grade so that tomorrow morning when I take her to the airport, I know that I packed in as much catching up and visiting as was possible.
