It took me eight years, but the bright orange throw that I began work on some time in 2005 is finished, and I am ready for the next thing.
The border is crocheted, the ends are woven in and trimmed, and all that is left to do is block it:

But the soaking in soapy water and rinsing it until the water is clear is tomorrow’s task, and today, when all was said and done, this was what remained:

a small, ready to tangle skein of bright orange yarn.
Not ready to let this yarn work its way into a permanent tangle, I got out the nostepinne and enjoyed the meditative magic of using it to wind this potential tangle into a small, reasonably well-ordered skein:

Tomorrow will be a new day and when it starts, I am going to dig deep (most likely literally as well as figuratively) and find a project that has been particularly difficult to complete, and this time, instead of setting it aside to become part of a large cosmic tangle of undone projects, I am not going to move onto the next thing until it is completed.
