Seven days and counting

This morning I awoke to six full crochet days on the calender and a half-day to get all the pet hair off my entries and delivered to the State Fairgrounds for the 2012 North Carolina State Fair.

Looming deadline notwithstanding, the day started out as it usually does. I got up, made my son breakfast, and then got myself ready to walk with him to the bus stop.

Once I stepped outside the cocoon of the air in my home, I was greeted by warm, damp air, which, after the sun rose looked like this:

A view through the condensation that collected on a glass door

This is what my mother calls “Air you can wear.” But be that as it may, there is just not that much time between me and the state fair deadline.

When I went to sleep last night, I had gotten this far with the assembly of my project:

My 2012 North Carolina State Fair project as of October 1, 2012

And today, once my errands were run and the living room vacuumed of as much pet hair as I could get up, I once again set to work on the assembly of my state fair project, and I made this much progress before I finally had to pack it up and put it where the animals could not shed on it:

I make some progress assembling my 2012 North Carolina State Fair project

If I think about it, I get a little nervous that I will not finish this project in time, and at times like that, I have to stop thinking and just do whatever it is that needs doing.
