Pi Day 2011

This year Pi Day arrived two days before my first house guest is due. As such, making circles took a back seat to my efforts to bring order to my crochet empire/guest room.

As part of my attempt to bring order, I agreed to allow my youngest son to have my 2010 North Carolina State Fair entry on his bed. This, in turn, freed up storage space that would otherwise be occupied by an unused blanket

This is how My 2010 North Carolina State Fair entry looked last October when I got a picture of the then recently completed project:

And here is how it looked today after I put it on his bed:

With my 2010 North Carolina State Fair project now part of the decor of my youngest son’s room, I then returned to my crochet empire and renewed my efforts to bring order out of chaos. I began these efforts by taping together a box and packing it with stuff to send to one of my older sons. He had recently requested a crocheted hat, so this afternoon, using this pattern (really a guide to beanie making) courtesy of Azzy, I came up with this hat:

crochetbug, crochet stripes, crochet beanie, crochet hat
Black skater crochet beanie with stripes of red, yellow, and green

which went in the box along with other random items I think he will need.

So while I did not add to the project I began last year to commemorate Pi Day:

it was a good day, all the way around.

    1. Thank you! As it happens, the only thing the cat and I agree on is that crochet totally rocks!
