As of this afternoon, I am 187 crochet squares closer to my goal of one thousand. It hasn’t happened overnight, but remnant by remnant, stitch by stitch, and square by square, the finished pieces have accumulated. When I counted the stack of completed squares that are in my home and added them to the 456 crochet squares I had finished work on this past October the additional squares brought the total to 643 which means I have “just” 357 squares to go.

This left me with time to work on the thirteen granny square purse that I am looking forward to finishing just three-and-a-half months after I started it, so after weaving in the ends of the third round of four new squares:

I picked out what I thought would make good fourth round colors and got to work:

which left me with even more ends to weave in and trim. Which I did:

I took all of the recently accumulate ends and put them in a pile with a four round single crochet cookie to the right for scale, and two other scrap yarn balls on the left:

then I tied the ends of the yarn scraps in the pile and made a third scrap yarn ball:

and then I wound them all into one great big scrap yarn crochet ball:

With all of those loose ends tidied up, I went in search of more crochet remnants and found these:

When the sun rises on tomorrow, I will weave in ends, and move forward, one stitch at a time.
