This time seven days ago I found myself in a bit of a quandary about what to do for my 2013 North Carolina State Fair project. It is seven days later now, and I can say, what a difference a week makes.
Seven days ago I had awakened to the fact that the project I had thought I would be able to work on was not even remotely close to possible, and I found myself needing to regroup.
Like many people when they are forced to confront a stressful situation, I turned to sweets (or at least something resembling sweets) for comfort.
Harkening back to the Cookieghan of last summer, I got to work revising the project for this year’s state fair.
Initially my efforts felt a bit clunky, but now that I am eight days into the August, I am starting to get into my state fair project groove, and while I have allowed myself to be side tracked just a little bit with eleven of what will be a dozen amigurumi cookies:

as well as a couple of new designs which include the butter pecan situated at 3:30 o’clock on the above circle, and these chocolate caramel beauties:

I have many cookies to crochet before I sleep, but at least I am on track to make the progress I will need to make in order to finish this project on time.
I know that between now and noon on October 14 Cookieghan 2.0 will provide me with a number of unanticipated challenges, but until then, I am savoring the joy that each cookie brings me, on stitch at a time.
Cookieghan 2.0 will be amazing! I can hardly wait to see what comes about. Much crochet mojo to you.
