I spent a measurable portion of my crochet day seaming together the second set of four medium squares for the textured squares afghan I am working on and then joining the newly completed large square to the previously completed large square
I have been particularly anxious to get this done so that I can better see the design that forms when the large squares are joined, and today I finally got to see the result.
I started by laying out the four medium squares next to the already completed large square:
Next, with the right sides together, my 4.5mm hook, and Red Heart Super Saver yarn, I joined the squares into two strips of two medium squares using a single crochet stitch through both loops:
Using the same method, I joined the two strips to form the second large square:
With the right sides of the two large textured squares facing each other, I again used the 4.5 mm hook to work a row of single crochet stitches to join the two squares:
Once the squares were joined, all that was left was to weave in the ends and take this photo of the back side of the project:
Now I just need make four more of these large squares and the project will be completed.
