Today we had what I think of as firefly weather: high temperatures with humidity to match and late afternoon thunder if not late afternoon thunderstorms.
I almost didn’t meet my modest goal of organizing one cubby each day. I spent most of my morning felting this small stash basket made from vintage wool:

The blue and pink and white variegation is also a vintage color scheme, left over from the days when a baby’s gender was not revealed until birth and it was necessary to have newborn items that could be used for a boy or a girl and as can be seen from this view, the color changes for an interesting swirl:

But after a morning spent felting, and a brief errand that took me out of the house for less than an hour, I once again turned my attention to my cubby situation and determined that I would do what I had set out to do.
After surveying the nature of the mess that remains, I decided that my notebooks and office supplies needed a cubby to call their own. It was during the process of clearing out a cubby to create space for notebooks and office supplies that I found this start I had made on a monkey featured in Narumi Ogawa’s Mr. Funky’s Super Wonderful Crochet:

And under that, I found these two pieces that form most of a crochet kitten, the pattern for which (along with a photo of two completed kittens) can be found here:

This project of cleaning up is taking time that I could otherwise use for crochet, but in the process, I am finding partially completed projects that can now be finished and then put to use.
I can’t wait to see what tomorrow’s efforts bring.
