It’s taken me two-and-a-half weeks, but I am finally back to where I started and ready to try again.
When I got up this morning, I had gotten this far with my sixteen substitute crochet remnants — a substitution which had been necessitated by the fact I had completely lost track of the “original” sixteen crochet remnants:

With the ends woven in and trimmed, I was ready to get to work, so I did, and as the day had a minimum of interruptions, I was able to finish the rehab of all sixteen remnants:

as well as collect all of the yarn scraps into one scrap yarn “nest” that was home to the small scrap yarn ball, I had sitting nearby:

In what seemed like no time, I had all of the yarn scraps tied end-to-end and ready for the crochet adventure that awaits them:

When I was in Illinois for the funeral service of my cousin and her husband, someone had asked me if I ever made things to sell. The answer is, no, I don’t. I pretty much limit myself to giving crocheted objects to people (and animals) whom I deem worthy.
Life is short, and I am too old to be crocheting things I don’t want to crochet, and in the wake of my cousin’s death, I feel that even more acutely than I did, but I did find a free crochet bunny pattern that tempted me, and today I gave into the temptation.
Using a 4.00 mm hook and some pink Caron yarn that I had handy, I got two work. In about 20 minutes time, I had the first side done:

But by then, my crochet day was drawing to a close and I needed to get to the things I had not been doing. There was laundry to be brought in, a dog to be walked, a floor in desperate need of sweeping, and a blog post to be written, but one delightful surprise of the day was this:

I found fifteen of the sixteen crochet remnants I had been looking for. I have, at least of the moment, come full “crochet” circle, and now I can work to give these remnants a use and a purpose, one stitch at a time.
Love the bunny, can’t wait to it finished.
Your blog is so funny, it’s like You’re in my head. Ha!
Omg Stella! I feel the same way about Leslie, her adventures and her blog! She makes my day! And those boots, Leslie, are so awesome!
I am working on little crochet remnants, just as you do. Miss Leslie, you have inspired me to try this out! I have been searching in my yarn collection for different colors to use. So far, I have started over 50 little crochet remnants. Thank you for the crochet inspirations! ?
