“Crazier than you” might not be an aspiration for most people, but I pretty much have to be to think up a project like this. Four hundred and three squares down, leaving only 558 squares left to go.
At the moment, I would like to panic, but I don’t have time.
With the number of days between now and when the project needs to be completed for this year’s state fair, I barely have time to eat, let alone give in to the dark and crazy side of panic, but I want to.
Today, however, instead of panicking, I went out on my deck with all of the supplies and tools I needed to work on my project, along with the soundtrack to The Addams Family musical, and got to work. Song after song and square after square, I worked, crocheting circles, weaving in ends, and attaching one square to another until I got this far:

The soundtrack to The Addams Family musical provides not only inspiration and focus, but also taps into my personal zeitgeist as I work the myriad stitches required to finish this project.
Your afghan is turning out beautifully! The white really makes those bright little circles spakle!
Hey, I have an idea. I was just at the LA County Fair. When I viewed all of the afghans and blankets, they were usually all folded up for display purposes. Why don’t you make your blanket smaller so you don’t have to stress so much. You can always add to it later to fit into your decor!?!
This particular design has an added element, so all squares are needed. I totally painted myself into a corner on this one. 🙂
And I used to think No One could be crazier than I. Silly me. hee hee. I love the afghan. You’re doing beautiful work, keep it up!
