My recent foray into the crochet cookie jar whetted my appetite to make more cookies.
As soon as I got my son to to the bus this morning, I came back to the house, started a pot of coffee, and got to work on yesterday’s partially completed cherry wink.
When I went to sleep last night, I had gotten this far:

This morning, I finished my first cup of coffee and the cherry wink at about the same time:

The cherry wink done, I set aside my crochet for a bit, got some breakfast and started a load of laundry.
Taking advantage of a lull in the morning’s chores, I returned to the remaining crochet cookies I had begun work on yesterday.
Using the three the crochet jam-centers that were on my coffee/crochet table, I set to work crocheting the outer edge of the cookies and the back. By noon, I had finished a second load of laundry and these three cookies:

With all of yesterday’s partially completed cookies done, I turned my attention to making what ended up being four dark chocolate cookies using a partial skein of Red Heart Super Saver coffee fleck that was in danger of tangling if I did not use it or wind it into a ball:

I then got a photo of the cookies all together:

Now that the pattern of increases and decreases for the crochet cookies has a trusty path through my brain, I really enjoy making them. While I find that I still need to keep a close watch on the count (in order to make cookies that are both uniform and round), I no longer have to consult my notebook with all of the notes I made about how to crochet these cookies which is a good thing, because I seem to have misplaced the notebook.
And these are very easy on the waistline cookies! And misplacing my notebook is something I would do…
One cookie at a time is never enough! Happily the more of these you make, the more satisfying it must be with absolutely no guilt! Started my Granny Sq Sampler afghan over the weekend inspired by yours – see my post. Such fun so far although I found the star square, the only complicated one I’ve done so far, quite a tricky customer! Thank you so much for pointing me in the direction of the pattern and for your inspirational pics which I need to refer to as much as the pattern! Have a happy cookie-filled / Granny Sq-filled day!
