Today was the last day to register to enter the 2012 North Carolina State Fair competitions.
Fortunately for me, I got that done last night.
I probably entered more categories than I have completed projects for, but I would rather not have a completed project to turn in than not be able to turn in a completed project because I didn’t register.
As for what I am counting besides days, it would have to be the as-yet-to-be-completed multi-color motifs that currently adorn my crochet/breakfast bar.
Yesterday, I managed to finish two of them with ends woven in and everything:

With those two motifs made, photographed, and washed, I worked on three additional motifs which, if you don’t count weaving in ends, I also finished:

Next, I assembled all of the remaining rectangles I had made that were littering my crochet/breakfast bar and began joining them to several of the remaining center squares which were also on my crochet/breakfast bar:

Eventually, I ran out of both daylight and rectangles.
The last thing I got done was the border piece I had begun work on at Tuesday’s Band Club meeting. At the time, I had not been overly thrilled to have yet another back-to-school meeting to attend, but it ended up being a good opportunity to get a start on a piece that I find challenging to work on because it does not have a lot of interesting color changes which is something I enjoy about crochet:

The next few days promise sunshine, and in as much as I have several non-negotiable, non-crochet tasks I must attend to for several of the days between now and the deadline for the state fair, I need to put that sunshine to its highest and best use, which I plan to do yet again, tomorrow.
Beautiful colors! Can’t wait to see finished product. 🙂
Counting down with you…
