Today was (I hope) my last day of getting up at 5:30 am for what remains of 2012.
But since I was up, the first crochet project I worked on was the crochet Assyrian helmet and beard I made to give to my son, Simon.
I had the beard almost attached to the earflaps, but there were a few stitches to be made and four ends to weave in. When all was said and done, here is how it looked from the front:

With the helmet and beard done, I packed it up with a few other goodies, and stopped at the post office while I was out running other errands. When I got home, I resumed work on the six sudoku afghan, crocheting many of the component squares and getting these sudoku squares joined:
