I am trying to do my best to stay on track and not get distracted, but yesterday, a friend and fellow crocheter shared this link with me, and I found myself unable to resist the temptation to try something just a little bit different than the gray squares I had been crocheting, and when the day was done I had managed to make thirteen more textured crochet squares, but I was momentarily sidetracked.
Here is what I came up with when I found myself a little (but just a very little) off course:

Having exorcised the demon of a future crochet project, I turned my attention to the gray squares that need to be done.
I had, at last count, the centers of six of the larger squares ready for the last six rounds, and as part of my efforts, I finished work on one of them:

The rest of my efforts, however, were focused on the thirty-two additional small squares I need to make the additional eight large squares I need to finish this increasingly belated Christmas gift.
Toward that goal I managed to finish twelve of the small squares in addition to the one large square:

I never know exactly where any given project will take me, but with a little luck and a lot of determination, I might — just might — have this done by the end of January.
Please could someone please tell me where I can purchase this pattern?
