This week flew right past.
Today, I finished the Lattice Hat for my cousin David, seen here all on it’s lonesome:

and seen here with the Divine tangerine hat for his brother Robert:

Because of my gauge, I started work on the three rounds of ribbing after I completed the 19th round of the pattern.
If you find yourself needing to make a last minute gift, I recommend the Divine Hat pattern because it is easier to get done quickly, but both hats are a lot of fun to crochet.
With the hat done, I was able to turn to my meditation and get the first four rounds done before dark:

and I finished with a final round of Red Heart Super Saver Pumpkin when I went to the Yarn Tree Studio for the Friday Night Hooker Club.
And before I finish this blog post, I want to send congratulations to little Adalynn Willett and her family. Adalynn was born with a birth defect that has required her to have 28 surgeries over the past 850 or so days (you can read about her condition here), and I could not help but notice that someone has made sure that little Miss Willett is properly decked out with a two-tone pink crochet hat with a flower:

and you know that whoever made it enjoyed making it as much as Adalynn seems to enjoy wearing it. Good luck to you Adalynn, and I hope you slept well your first night out of the hospital.
Now, to the week in review.

A tangerine hat for my cousin Robert
Thursday, December 6, 2012

A very good week indeed!
Love the hats!
Crazy story about Adalynn Willet, I’ve a cousin whose daughter had the same condition…. Of course Morgan is a no longer a baby: she is a bright and beautiful college graduate!!! (I do not remember her case being as difficult or ongoing as Adalynn’s however) Enjoy the weekend.
