My front burner project is supposed to be a granny square inspired lampshade rehab, but somewhere along the way, I got distracted.
My regular readers may (or may not) have noticed that I got a new pair of shoes which made an appearance in a blog post in late March:

The shoes had caught my eye while shopping for my youngest son. Unable to resist the siren call of the purple “Ditsy Floral” VansĀ®, I bought them:

Then, yesterday, I looked at the shoes and decided that the colors would be perfect for another granny square bag. With that in mind, I sorted through my yarns, selected 10 that I thought would work, got out my 4.0 mm hook, and started crocheting.
Here is how far I got before sundown yesterday:

here is the progress I made today:

and here are the squares with the shoes that inspired them:

One thing about choosing a set number of colors is that the work is much quicker as there are not so many decisions to make, but even with this limited palette, I am enjoying this crochet adventure and can hardly wait to see where it takes me.
Ohhhhh Loving those colors!!!!
Love the shoes!
Looks great, love the inspiration. Love the shoes. Cant wait to see your lampshade, I love granny anything. Thanks for sharing!
