Nearing the finish

By this time tomorrow, I will either be overcome with exhaustion and fast asleep, or I will be infused with adrenaline and unable to rest. Either way, I am nearing the finish of my 2011 North Carolina State Fair project.

And — either way — this year’s state fair project will have begun the process of becoming part of the history of my state fair endeavors and some other crochet project that has been waiting in the wings will be able to step up and take center stage.

With all of that in mind, I got up this morning and began work at the earliest possible moment and worked feverishly, trying hard to think only about the stitch at hand, and not all of the stitches that were yet to be made. Here is how far I had gotten with my 2011 North Carolina State Fair project shortly after noon today:

crochet squares and crochet rectangles , crochetbug, crochet blanket, crochet throw, crochet afghan
My state fair crochet project as of 12:30 pm or so

And here is a photo taken around six hours later:

As is clear, I still have a bit of work to do, so with Clover bent-tipped needle in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other, I am headed back to the crochet mines.

  1. What an amazing work of art!! I love looking at it and I believe it rightfully belongs in a famous museum.

  2. WOW!!!! That is beautiful. I hope you won best of show, first place and every other prize you could win.
WOW! The museum is a good idea, too.
